The association

THENeapolitan Pizzaiuoli Association was founded in 1998 in Naples, where it still has its headquarters, to protect and promote the ancient art of Neapolitan Pizzaiuolo worldwide, along with the entire set of skills, procedures, and ingredients that reflect Neapolitan tradition and culture. Indeed, the profession of Pizzaiuolo was once considered of little relevance to restaurants, but it has succeeded in transforming the profession into a gastronomic culture.

The association's goal is to protect the pizza-making profession, but above all to pass on the art to young people who are interested and willing to explore this artisanal craft.

For us, pizza is not simply a food to be enjoyed, but a symbol of a people's identity.

We are therefore convinced that the canons of this precious tradition of ours cannot be dispersed in a globalized world, but must be handed down intact to new generations.

The association boasts members from all over the world, thanks also to its delegations with their own offices, which ensure the Association's global recognition.

It boasts offices in Australia, China, Korea, Croatia, France, Germany, Japan, Mexico, Poland, Portugal, the United States, Switzerland, and Taiwan. All representatives, delegates, and members, even those not native to Naples, practice their profession in accordance with traditional standards.

Since then, he has worked hard to deliver on APN's mission and achieve significant milestones, including:

  • He gave Neapolitan Pizza a defined identity, the Neapolitan Pizza STG;
  • In December 2017, the "Art of Neapolitan Pizza Makers" was recognized as a UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage, thanks in part to the collection of over 2 million signatures in support of the nomination. It is part of the community that promoted and signed the nomination dossier for "The Art of Neapolitan Pizza Makers" for inclusion in the UNESCO Representative List of Intangible Cultural Heritage. It is currently one of the members of the Committee for the Management and Coordination of the aforementioned recognition, which took place on December 7, 2017, established at the Ministry of Agricultural, Food and Forestry Policies.
  • It has promoted Neapolitan pizza and excellent Campania products through its members and together with its branches.

The Neapolitan Pizza Makers Association follows three guidelines:

  • To defend and promote the art of pizza making;
  • Pass it on through the Pizzaiuoli School, our training school;
  • Promoting the entire pizza-making supply chain.
